When Sheikh first contacted me, little did we realize that we have so much in common! We first started talking to each other via the phone and since we're both Singaporeans, we went on to meet each other soon after last year. And as we got to know each other better, we realized that we're meant for each other in so many ways. We're the best of friends and every day we find new things to learn about each other. I know this might sound like a cliche to most of you reading this but that was what I used to think as well when I read the other couples' success stories in the past. I used to tell me self, gosh, will this ever happen to me? And guess what, a couple of months ago, we found out that our grandfathers were from the same village in India and were the best of friends before they passed away. Plus, my family knows his family. We might even have met each other at some family function before! It's so amazing and it feels like we have been waiting for each other all this while! What's more, we're the same age! What's so funny is the fact that when both of us posted our profiles we never expected to find each other, our one and only. It's been one year now and all I can say is thank you so much, Shaadi.com for bringing us together, Sheikh and Shahida. If not for you we might never have met the one for each other. And with you, we have found our life partner and we will be tying the knot on the 1st of November this year (2008). As for anyone who's reading this, all I can say is that you should never give up hope because there is someone out there who's waiting to meet you and only you! (Pardon the cliche!)
